Dota 2: Summary of DreamHack Day 1
First day at Dota2 DreamHack Winter 2012 Corsair Vengeance Cup is over and here's a little summary of the day from Jönköping. The headline of the day was definitely XBOCT saying "We need to go to China before The International." He was kinda complaining about being stuck in Europe, fighting lower class teams in competitions while the Chinese teams get better and better fighting themselves. Today, Na'Vi had two tough games against AL and 3DMAX in group A, but the games were probably a bit closer than necessary because of the picks from Na'Vi's side.
This is a little summary and let's pay more attention to DreamHack Winter 2012 together!

MYM and Clan Polandwill not participate in DreamHack Winter
On Thursday, 22 December, the DreamHack Corsair Vengeance Dota 2 Cup starts with 14 predetermined teams and 2 BYOC slots. Last week, MYM already told the community they would get a new lineup, by now known as dd for which the decision about a continuation of the MYM time will be made on 1 December.
Now it's the two clans mTw and Clan Poland who cancel their trip. mTw has been invited to DreamHack Winter as the winner of DreamHack Summer. In June, they took down Na'Vi in the DreamArena Extreme in a 2-1 grand final. Clan Poland was already the standin for ScaryFaceZ, the Ukrainian team which qualified in one of the three online tournaments, but made clear very fast they would not be able to go.

Dota 2: LGD are number 1 in G-1
The G-1 playoff phase for Dota2 was held and completed this weekend. LGD goes undefeated and they win both their semi final vs iGand their final vs DK - without dropping a game. How exciting!
The G-1 League groupstage started off with LGD playing vs iG, the champions of the International #2. It was a one-sided story where iG basically destroyed LGD. But in the end, LGD came back - stronger than ever. They got their revenge for the opening of Group A when they crushed iG's dreams of winning G-1, using one of iG's signature heroes; Luna. LGD seem fond of her as she was played to perfection by Sylar again in both games of the final vs DK.

iG are on the Top!
Transfer from Dota to Dota 2 and diverse is
really stressful experience for every team! "What`s the difference?"
– you can say. Nevertheless they are two different games, which are supposed to
be played in different ways. More over it seems that being at the top of their
career, the team will never decay! Taking into account that the members of the
team were together for more than one year, one can surely say that they`ve done
a lot for such a short period!
Let`s take a look at their achievements.
They got into the list of Sendi Mutiara
Multimedia tournament`s participants in December 2011, but the team wasn`t
considered as the potential winner. Though,
iG managed to demonstrate their superiority over main opponent, Nirvana.cn! For the victory at the tournament iG got18.000$ and the right to be named as
the best team of DotA arena!
After heavily loaded season, iG faced with
DK! At the final games which were hold according to the rules of bo5
system, teams won matches one by one. The first match iG won, the 2nd - DK, the 3rd -
iG, the 4th - DK, and in the last
match iG defeated opponent, and won the
main tournament prize 31.500$.
At group stage they performed excellent
game! 13 win and only 1 lose! Then they played with Na'Vi, who kicked iG out of W table right into L table. Then iG
began to smash the teams one by one and at the final game of L table they faced
with LGD, whom they defeated with the
score 2-1. In the result, the final game of TI2 became the rematch in
which iG played-up Na'Vi and won 1.000.000$ and got the
"Aegis of the Immortals" as a trophy!!!
At the semi-final they played-up Dt^Club with the score 2-0. They smashed-up
LGD with the score 2-0 at the final leaving them no chance for the victory. Won
31,670$ as a reward and sword in addition to the shield from TI2. Are the iG`s
players really so strong? Did the Seattle really become the turning point of
the professional Dota 2 arena? It is not obvious yet.

Whimsyshire is not Designed for Farming
Previously in Diablo 3, many players would
like to farm in Whimsyshire. As time goes by, Whimsyshire is not that popular
any more. Recently, a player asked on the community if there were still players
farming Whimsyshire. Community manager Lylirra said Whimsyshire was a place of
fun. She will go there. But it’s not a farm spot.
Lylirra
Whimsyshire is actually one of my favorite
places to farm whenever I'm looking to gear up another character, or help out a
friend do something similar. It's nice change of pace (and scenery) and, hey, I
get to punch bears in the face. So there's that.
As for super serious farming? Nah, not
really. It's definitely not my preferred spot, but it wasn't really designed to
be that. It's a fun addition to the game, for sure, but not necessarily a core
part of it. :)

Interview with Vladimir PGG Anosov
After break-up of a new team TR, Vladimir “ PGG ” Anosov actively begun to
learn stream craft and literally in a week became one the most popular streamer
in CIS with a stable audience more than 2000 viewers. From the interview with
Navi-Gaming, you will know a lot of backstage details of The International 2,
about modern European Dota and plans for the future.
Hello Vova! It`s already passed two month
after The International 2, two teams M5 and TR broke-up, now you don`t play with any of them. So, here
is the question – What is your occupation now?
Hello. I decided to take a rest from Dota
and now I`m ready for new deeds. I didn`t get invitation from already existing
teams, that`s why I gather “New team” in the rear. .)
What
happened with TR and why didn`t you get high-sky success at the Starladder 3
and the others tournaments?
Everything was great with TR, we gathered
the team of the friends who more or less understand how to play this game, but
everything went wrong. TR didn’t play others tournament.
Who can you describe current relations with
Vigoss, Admir, Silent and BloodAngle after breaking up of the original M5?
We are still friends with some of them, but
after The International 2 I made the conclusions of others teammates and
stopped to communicate with them at all. Totally every man for himself, we
don`t play with each other at the same team any more.
In common what can you tell about Moscow 5
as an organization? Did you follow the games of a new team and was it surprise
for you that they also broke-up?
I wouldn`t like answer the first part of a
question. As for breaking-up: that was expectable they played with the mixed
teams. After TI2 only Na`Vi continued to play with the same line-up and it
wasn`t surprising that the well-coordinated team defeated mixed groups. For the
best players of M5 the breaking-up is the great advantage but for the worth of
them it is the disadvantage. :)
So why did you leave professional Dota 2
after breaking-up of the TR? Please tell us what has happened in your life? May
be you found a job and became highly-paid psychologist or HR manager.
The ТR didn`t break-up :). Simply I think
that it`s not worth to lose more games not playing with a good team. Almost
nothing has changed I just moved to the St. Petersburg to closer with my
girlfriend.
At one of your streams you mentioned that
would like to play with Danish teams (MiGGel and Angel), and finally you
changed your mind. Was it true? If it was true, so why wouldn`t you play with
them? Whom would you prefer to play within one team?
Yeah, that is true but after lasting
negotiations we left this question unsolved. Present day neither I nor they
play. :) If to talk about new teammates – soon you will know about them!
At finale days of The International 2 some
of our YouTube channel’s viewers could enjoy your talent as a reviewer. Didn`t
you think to continue yours carrier in Dota 2 as a reviewer?
I don`t give up like this :). Vilata &
co already suggested me to cooperate with them but I answered that I`m player.
Moreover I don`t even think of it till I completely fail as a player ;)
Being player and participant of The
International 2 what can you tell about it? Was it simply fortune that Na`Vi
took the silver and became the only non-Asian team in Top 8 of the tournament?
TI2 was the best tournament that I`ve ever
participated at. Na`Vi got the drive, won the Chinese teams and were so amazing
that even opponents became the fans of them)) I`m sure that is not simple
fortune.
As far as I remember you was really good at
chess, played at the tournament of Moscow and regional arena. What attracted
you in chess and did you find any similarities of chess to Dota? For example,
at the phase of pick, bans etc.
You are wrong) I wasn`t so good at chess.
Of course, there are some similarities, but knight in Dota is more mobile than
chess` one.
Have you ever played poker? If yes, so did
you succeeded in it?
I did, but I didn`t get real success. :)
Why Russian Dota players still didn`t kick
ass of Chinese one? :)
That is all because of players` condition.
Do you a have plan to change this tendency?
;)
Somebody should to do this. Why not me?
It`s the matter of time, let it be our secret.
What are you ready to give up for the win
at The International 3?
I`m ready to waste one more summer playing
Dota and may be spring and autumn! ;)

Dota 2: Jakiro most played hero since 6.75
One month has passed since the somewhat
drastic changes of the 6.75 DotA map have been implemented into Dota 2. Time to
take a look on the impact of the patch on the picks and bans and their outcome.
169 matches have been analyzed by Dota
Academy since 5 October, the day after the inclusion of 6.75 changes to Dota 2.
From these 169 matches between 5 October and 5 November, 86 are assigned to the
Western European region, 47 to the SEA region, 48 to the CIS region, 32 to
China, 35 to America and 40 to other parts of the world. The sum of this
certainly higher than 169, but matches were assigned to multiple regions if the
teams played intercontinentally. Thanks to Dota Academy for providing the raw
statistics for everyone.
Nature's Prophet has disappeared from the
top banned heroes alongside Lycanthrope. While Lycanthrope might be a bit
over-nerfed, Nature's Prophet was sort of the we additional ban while we had
six bans in the first banning phase. Now he is not frightening enough to be
banned in the first four and often doesn't fit anyway anymore after the first
picking phase.
Where are Venomancer, Invoker and Morphling
gone? Okay, Invoker and Morphling both have been nerfed with the 6.75 patch, so
that was to be expected. Venomancer's downfall might have something to do with
Jakiro's story of success. From zero to hero he goes with a single patch,
suddenly becoming the most picked hero while not being over-buffed to let him
become a must-ban-hero.

Established Dota 2 teams dominate GEST Dota 2 group stage
Zenith, MUFC, Orange and Natural 9 top
their groups in GEST Dota 2 edition. Playoffs begin next Saturday.
The group phase matches of the South-East
Asian Dota 2 tournament GEST is over. In six rounds, the 16 teams battled it
out today, followed by GoDz, LD and Myzzrym as the casters on three
videostreams.
Zenith, MUFC, Orange and Natural 9, four
teams already established in Dota 2 have won their groups. The DotA-experienced
participants in series of GEST have struggled in the competition. Of these four
teams, Natural 9 and Orange lost a map in the group phase, while MUFC and
Zenith went through it undefeated.
All four will continue to the playoff stage
together with the runner-ups of each group, which are namely Mineski, First
Departure, Duskbin and Armaggeddon. This way, Singapore is the most frequently
represented country in the playoffs, Malaysia and Philippines sending two
teams, Australia one team.
The playoffs will be played soon at a date
still to be announced. The winning team gains $1,000, the runner-up $500. Both
finalists will play against LGD and another Chinese team for more prizemoney
afterwards.

CLG Dota 2 Disbands
Nine months after picking up their Dota 2
team, the e-sports organization Counter Logic Gaming have announced on their

culminated with their withdrawal from The Premier League earlier this month.
This event was soon followed by the
departure of the former captain of the team,
Per Anders 'Pajkatt' Olsson Lille, and his teammate Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Filipsen, to complete the
roster of the newly formed
LGD.international.
Recently, it has also been confirmed
that Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall will join
his former teammate, Jonathan 'Loda'
