The patch update has
arrived and has brought along 'Meepo, The Geomancer'.
Yes, all five of
them.
First spotted in the
image feed during The International and predicted to be as an incoming hero in
Cyborgmatt's Patch analysis on September, 13th, The Geomancer has finally
arrived. It appears that Valve has outdone itself this time around as releasing
five heroes in a single patch, has never been witnessed before.
The following is an
excerpt of the Changelog:
- Added Meepo!

- In the Test client,
heroes will now randomly equip cosmetic items every time they spawn.
GAMEPLAY
- Pugna: Fixed Nether
Ward briefly registering the incorrect team right after casting.
- Wisp: Fixed being
able to Teleport a Tethered creep to the enemy base.
- Lich: Fixed Chain
Frost being dodgable.
Although an extremely
rare pick in competitive Dota games, Meepo was known to wreck havoc with a
blink dagger initiation and subsequent team wipes. It was also the hero that
garnered maximum experience throughout the game. It’s worth mentioning that the
hero requires a fair amount micro-controlling skill and needs decent amount of
practice.
With its inclusion
Dota2, we would finally be able to get some hard statistics with respect to the
average Gold-per-minute and Experience that its capable of accumulating. It
would be safe to say that any previously set records for these statistics are
in for a contest.
UI
- Pennants now work
for any game that's part of a tournament.
The pennants have now
been given relevance, post TI2, and will be enabled on every game that is part
of a tournament.
